International Activities
The Japanese Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology (JSNMT) is dedicated to advancing the field of nuclear medicine technology through global collaboration, academic exchange, and the promotion of high-quality research. Our International Committee actively facilitates connections between Japanese professionals and the global nuclear medicine community.
Our Mission
We strive to share Japan’s advanced technological expertise with the world while learning from international best practices. By fostering relationships with global societies and supporting our members’ international endeavors, we contribute to the worldwide development of nuclear medicine.
Key Initiatives
1.International Exchange and Grant Programs
To encourage global academic participation, JSNMT offers two types of support programs:
Academic Activity Encouragement: Support for attending and participating in international conferences or conducting training at overseas nuclear medicine facilities.
Overseas Research Presentation Encouragement: Grants for members presenting their latest research at major international congresses, including:
・Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI)
・European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM)
・Asian Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology (ASNMT)
・World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB)
・Asia Oceania Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (AOFNMB)
2. JSNMT International Research Award
Established to recognize excellence in global research, this award is presented to members who have published outstanding papers as first authors in international English-language journals. Award recipients are invited to deliver special lectures at our annual meeting, sharing not only their findings but also their experiences in the international publication process to inspire fellow members.
3. Collaboration with Global Societies
JSNMT maintains strong partnerships with major international organizations to promote the globalization of nuclear medicine technology:
・ASNMT (Asian Society of Nuclear Medicine Technology): As a founding member, JSNMT actively participates in annual conferences and hospital exchange programs across Asia.
・SNMMI & EANM (Technologist Sections): We collaborate with our counterparts in the U.S. and Europe, representing the Asian region in global technologist meetings and professional discussions.
・Japan-China Nuclear Medicine Exchange: We participate in joint initiatives with the Chinese Society of Nuclear Medicine to foster mutual growth and technological advancement in the region.
